Sony has announced that it will be shutting down its PlayStation Mobile division. Starting July 15, no further content will be published to the store and from September 10 onwards users won’t be able to re-download previously purchased titles.
PlayStation Mobile was a platform running on select PlayStation certified Android devices along with Sony’s PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV consoles. A game on PlayStation Mobile could be purchased and played on any of these certified devices.
It’s not surprising to see that the platform is getting shut down, as we didn’t really hear much about it since it was launched and the Android side of it was hardly getting any content.
