Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman plays some tunes in our office [VIDEO]

The Walkman brand is making a comeback in the Sony Ericsson lineup – if the W8 seemed unconvincing, the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman should dispel any remaining doubt.

The specs sheet quotes the Xperia mini most of the time, but there are some changes exclusive to Live – like the stereo speakers on the back, the dedicated Walkman button and accompanying light. The screen has grown to 3.2″, but has kept the HVGA resolution.

The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is bigger than the mini, but thinner too. Its topside has sort of BlackBerry-esque buttons – the Walkman and Power/Lock buttons.

They flank the 3.5mm audio jack, which has a colored strip that comes alive and flashes in the rhythm of the music.

The stereo loudspeaker on the back of the device sounds pretty loud (we’ll get exact measurements later) and features Sony Ericsson’s xLOUD option, which optimizes sound for the speaker.

The rest of the Live with Walkman is a pretty familiar package – despite the slightly larger screen, Sony Ericsson put their four corner UI on top of Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Not that we’re complaining, the latest iteration is pretty good since it removed the one widget per screen limit.

The sales package of the Live with Walkman seems pretty modest though – a 2GB microSD card and the same headset you got with the Xperia mini. With the proper price however (no official info on that yet), it could be quite a deal.
