Samsung unveils Animal Edition Battery packs featuring endangered animals

The battery charge in your phone is diminishing and so are the animals of an endangered species. Samsung is trying to tackle both with its new Animal Edition Battery Packs.

They will come in two sizes – 8,400mAh and 11,300mAh – and only one level of cute: very.

The bigger one will fill up a Galaxy Note 4 more than twice. The Giant panda and the Golden monkey will adorn these batteries. Both species are listed as Endangered on the Red List of threatened species, with fewer than 2,000 giant pandas alive in the wild.

The smaller battery can charge a Galaxy S6 three times and come with either a Lesser panda or a Fennec fox. These are listed as Vulnerable (under 10,000 adult Lesser pandas in the world) and Least concern respectively.

Both battery packs can charge two devices simultaneously and have a power display to show how much juice is remaining. There’s a Charge the Life app, which is a more fun way to track charge – they animals will liven up as the phone’s battery nears full.
