Skype launched pre-paid cards in Mexico in early August and they are now bringing them to the UK. The cards come in £10 and £20 denominations and will be available for purchase from some of the UK’s biggest retail store chains – Asda, Currys, PC World, Sainsburys’ and WHSmith, 1,400 stores in total.
The cards will be available in the gift card sections of these stores and are a quick and easy gift you can pick up if you or your friends will be traveling abroad.
These cards are good for pretty much every Skype service, including calling mobiles and landlines on a per minute basis at 1.6p/minute or unlimited calls for a month to Europe at £5.74/month, the world (excluding China) at £9.76/month and the world plus China at £15.51/month (prices include VAT). They can be redeemed over at Skype’s web site.
Other countries should expect to get their own Skype Prepaid Cards though we don’t know which ones just yet.
