Nokia just released a major update to their Nokia Maps 3D web app, adding several new features. The mapping software, which offers arguably the best photorealistic 3D view mode (albeit in a limited number of cities) now got local attractions, restaurants, and shops and navigation support.
You can search for addresses, businesses and various other points of interests and you can now plan a route with walk or drive directions. And it all works in 3D as long as you are in one of the following cities: Barcelona, Berlin (new), Boston, Cape Town, Chicago, Copenhagen, Florence, Helsinki, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Melbourne, Miami, Milan, New York, Oslo, Prague, Rome (new), San Francisco, Stockholm, Sydney, Toronto, Venice or Vienna.
The other major update is the option to easily share places and routes with your friends via email, Facebook or Twitter.
You can take the new Nokia Maps 3D for a spin by following this link. And don’t forget to come back and share with us how you find it.
