Micromax announces the Canvas Tab, costs $270

Indian phone maker Micromax has launched their first Canvas series tablet, the Canvas Tab P650, in India for the price of Rs. 16,500, or $267.

The tablet will sport an 8-inch IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 16GB of expandable storage, alongside 1GB of RAM.

Also on board is a 5MP main camera alongside a 2MP front-facer, 3G connectivity, and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. All of this gets its juice from a 4800 mAh battery.

According to Micromax, the release of the Canvas tablet series follow the unprecedented success of the latest Canvas 4 smartphone, and will come equipped with several exclusive Micromax features, like the M! Security suite, which includes anti-theft, backup, and anti-virus applications.

The Canvas Tab P650 is available starting today in India, in white or blue color varieties.
