Breaking news – it’s a Sensation! Yes, the new super droid from HTC has dropped by our office. It’s got almost every feature in the book, so we’ll have to do a lot of tests – and if you’re as impatient as us, you’ll want to join us for the unboxing.
The HTC Sensation is all screen – whole 4.3″ of it with qHD resolution (that’s 540 x 960) – and very little bezel. What hides behind the screen is a lot of processing power oomph – a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 chipset with Adreno 220 graphics. There’s 768MB RAM in there too.
But let’s get back to the unboxing – the box is pretty standard (and iPhonish, I’d say) with standard contents. A charger, a one-piece headset and some manuals is what you get. There is an 8GB microSD card pre-installed in the phone though, which is a nice bonus.
Unboxing the HTC Sensation • Nope, not a unibody
What’s missing is a MHL dongle to hook up an HDMI cable to – but we expected that from our experience with other MHL-enabled devices. MHL dongles will be a paid accessory it seems.
The phone feels very solid in the hand and it’s got a good deal of metal on its body – but it’s not a unibody design.
Anyway, the latest Sense UI 3.0 feels extremely smooth (no wonder with that processing power) and it has grown more 3D effects that you can shake a stick at. The lock screen has become quite useful too.
Instead of talking about it, here’s the HTC Sensation going through the unboxing treatment and a quick look at Sense UI on video.
Cool right? Well, this is all we can share for now. Our hands are itching to run some tests on this beauty. Maybe we’ll share some as we go along (are you interested in another fight?), but right now we have to go back to the review – it won’t write itself, you know.
