The latest member of the Android family comes from HTC – the new Droid Incredible. It’s a Verizon Wireless exclusive and will help them in the battle with the Sprint’s Evo 4G.
HTC Droid Incredible is almost the same as company’s latest model – the Desire. It packs a 3.7-inch capacitive WVGA AMOLED screen, 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and optical trackpad. All types of connectivity are also on board – Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth along with 3.5mm audio jack and microSD card slot.
The Droid Incredible runs on the latest Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI.
Verizon Wireless will start taking pre-orders on 19 April, while the Droid Incredible will hit the network on 29 April. The price is $199 with a two-year contract after $100 mail-in rebate.
Unfortunately, the handset is CDMA-only so we won’t be covering it on GSMArena.com. There are already rumors that a GSM version of the Droid Incredible is in the works and will be announced later this year, but there is no official word on that. Meanwhile you’re welcomed to check our HTC Desire review.
