Info on the Samsung Galaxy S5 camera keeps trickling in and while rumors don’t always agree, the upcoming flagship is starting to sound more and more interesting. The latest bit of info confirms the 16MP / 2160p camera and adds a list of camera modes and additional features.
The Galaxy S5 will reportedly have a capacitive button where shutter keys usually go (on the bottom right) called Side Touch.
As for the camera, the maximum resolution will be 16MP, ISO setting will range from 100 to 800. It will also record 2160p @ 30fps and 1080p @ 60fps video, same as the Galaxy Note 3.
Some interesting new camera modes include 3D Tour Shot (interactive 3D virtual tours of your surroundings) and 3D Panorama (spherical panorama, aka Photo Sphere). Then there’s Focus select, which will allow the user to adjust the depth of field. There’s also an Aqua mode we’ve seen on the Galaxy Active phones – the latest rumors suggest the Galaxy S5 will be dust and water resistant so this mode optimized for underwater shooting will come in handy.
The old camera modes and color effects will be making a reappearance on the Galaxy S5 too. The new flagship is expected to be announced on February 24 at the Unpacked 5 event.
