‘Flappy Bird’ developer considering bringing the game back

Not long after it was pulled off the stores, developer of notoriously popular Flappy Bird game Dong Nguyen says he is considering bringing the game back.

For those who are not aware, Flappy Bird was a popular arcade game for iOS and Android that featured guiding a bird through a series of tightly spaced out pipes. The game was quite difficult but also quite addictive so despite the frustration it caused people kept playing it, which resulted in its astounding popularity. Even though the game was free to play with only the in-game ads being the source of revenue, Nguyen was said to be earning close to $50,000 per day from his game.

However, through a series of tweets, Nguyen later announced that he will take down the game from the stores, which he did. The reason for this, which he provided later, was that he thought that the game was too addictive and his sudden celebrity status was infringing on his privacy. The game has been off the stores for over a month now and in its wake has spawned several clones, none of which have quite managed toe emulate the success of the original.

It seems though that Flappy Bird might be making a comeback and Nguyen says if it does, he will put in a warning that asks players to take a break from playing the game. You can read more about this and a lot more in his Rolling Stone interview in the link below.
