The trend of constantly increasing online sales during the Thanksgiving Thursday and the Black Friday has continued for yet another year. A study found that the total revenue for the two days reached $2.99 billion, representing an increase of just over 25% compared to last year.
The boost in sales was driven in large part by the growing mobile sales, which this time accounted for almost a quarter of all online spending. The spending from smartphones and tablets rose a whopping 118% YoY and accounted for 24% of the dollars spend online.
It’s worth pointing out that sellers that also have brick and mortar stores in addition to their online shops were doing far better over the two days, snatching 75% of the total revenues.
