NVIDIA spilled all the beans on its freshly announced, beastly GTX Titan X GPU during the opening keynote of its GPU Technology Conference. The graphics powerhouse is available today for $999.
NVIDIA GTX Titan X features Maxwell GPU architecture, which offers “twice the performance and double the power efficiency of its predecessor.” The unit delivers 7 teraflops of peak performance thanks to 3,072 processing cores and 12GB of RAM.
The end result from the above hardware configuration is the high-end gaming title “Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor” running at 40fps in 4K. The already capable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 tops out at 30fps in comparison.
