Bang & Olufsen has announced a new portable Bluetooth speaker for use with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The speaker has an interesting picnic basket-like design, with a handle to carry it around.
The Beolit 15 has an aluminum and plastic body, with a rubberized texture on top to keep your phone. The handle is made out of genuine full-grain leather and angled to avoid the speaker from wobbling while being carried around.
The speaker features dual amplifier system, with one powering the five and a half inch long strong full-range driver on the front, which in turn drives the two four inch passive radiators on the side, and the other amplifier drives the three 37mm mid-tweeters, two of them facing forward at a 45 degree angle and the third one at the back, which gives the speaker system its 360 degree sound.
The Beolit 15 supports Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec. It can remember up to 8 devices and can connect to two at a time. There is no NFC on this, however, for quick pairing. Instead you will have to use the buttons on the top.
The Beolit 15 has a 18WH battery that can last up to 24 hours at moderate volumes.
The Beolit 15 is priced at $599/€499 and will be sold in gold, pink, and blue colors.
