After getting the review treatment the Lenovo S90 Sisley is now entering our detailed battery life test overview so that we can compare it to some of its rivals and see what’s what.
We liked a lot about the Sisley in our review like the great design, the good Super AMOLED panel, capable Vibe UI v.2 software and the camera among other things but the battery life was only average.
Call times were a spot-on 10 hours – hardly an inspiring result. For instance the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A5 Duos, which are among the Lenovo Sisley rivals scored 18 hours in this test. The Apple iPhone 6 which the Sisley’s main muse scored little over 2 hours more here. Even the latest Moto G (2014) was able to best the Sisley’s result.
We then did the web browsing test where the Sisley lasted for 7 hours – a decent result. That’s better than the Motorola Moto G (2014) but worse compared to the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A5 Duos (also sporting Super AMOLEDs) and the Sony Xperia C3 Dual.
The video playback test saw a slightly improved score by the Lenovo Sisley – 7:30 hours of constant playback. Couple that with the excellent video codec support we enjoyed on the Sisley and we’ve got a very decent performance.
Finally it’s time to combine the three tests with the stand-by time and we get the 54 hours of endurance. This rating shows the interval you would be able to go with an hour of calling, video watching and browsing a day. It’s not a bad number, managing do surpass devices like the LG Nexus 5, the Oppo R5 and Find 7, the Lumia 820 and the Motorola Moto X (2014). Still most of the Sisley direct rivals beat it here, meaning battery life isn’t going to be a weapon for the slim metal smartphone.
