Zynga to make Farmville 2 mobile app

Farmville might not be the hottest game on Facebook right now, but Zynga is trying to change that.

The company is going to release Farmville 2: Country Escape for phones and tablets.

The new application will offer both single-player and multi-player modes, with all of the action syncing up with your online Facebook activity.

Of course, you don’t need to be connected to the internet to play the game, however, and you can even create an offline game and play it exclusively off the grid.

Gameplay is the same song and dance: players can plant, farm, rear livestock, and make their own goods to sell for in-game money. It does feature a new location for players to enjoy: a beach! There’s no word on whether or not this affects game play, however.

The app will be available for both iOS and Android upon its release, so if you’ve got a hankering for some farming action, there’s a wide variety of devices to choose from.

Anyone excited to plant some virtual rutabagas?
