Frankly speaking, what’s the benefit of wireless charging? Convenience?

Compared to these disadvantages: more time required to charge, more power wasted, less compatibility of charger with anything else except S3, etc.

Instead they should’ve had electricity connected mobile stand: Put S3 on it, and a button would be pressed, which will start supply electricity to adaptor, and initiate regular charging…

This way, it will remain permanently connected to electricity, without any wastage or risk because the electricity won’t reach the built in adaptor, until the button is pressed by the phone slotted on it. And this slotting would also fit a charger slot into the phone all at once.

This would be a highly convenient variant of wired charging. Will Nokia do it, if not Samsung?

I do know that, but LG’s failure can’t be counted a try because unless the device works and the end-user is able to use it this idea can’t be called a real innovation, and anyway the idea of wireless charging is years old the real success is to do it practically.

completely agree, I often find myself using my phone while charging, especially with my phone as a mobile hotspot or streaming to my laptop/TV. Faster charging times would be far more appreciated.

A disadvantage is that you cannot use your phone around while charging….

Why don’t they just focus on developing fast charging… Full charge an half hour anyone…?

If early chargers were somehow wiresless rather than wired… a wired charging solution would’ve been heavily celebrated since it would allow more portability. That’s the case right now. What’s the point of wireless charging as long as the phone has to sit on a base? Only if truly wireless, as in charging when in a specific area would it be of use, but that’s only in the condition of turning on charging through the a toggle on the phone itself, and not always.
