Dude, maybe you're to young to get the sarcasm in my previous comment. I'm not even an iPhone user (never been), let alone Apple fanboy. So i'm not defending anybody. I can see pretty clear that you're the one that takes sides here. Anyway, i had several aluminium body phones, and yes, not all of them chipped, but some of the did! Your N8 didn't? Great, good for you! But my HTC Desire, Desire S, One S and my Samsung Wave (one) did. I also own now a HTC Titan with aluminium body, and it has no scratch at all (and yes, it lives in my pocked), but that doesn't mean that no other phone besides the iPhone 5 is scratchable..

"
but chipped paint is common on aluminium phones. And that's a fact i cannot ignore."

Really??
Man, please go and try to scratch a Nokia N8's Colored Aluminum body with a key and see it shows up any silver color scratches. That's called build quality.
You simply defending your beloved Apple because it's divine to you. But for the people out of that circle, they know the reality.
Again for your knowledge, N8 is made with Aluminum body(available in several colors), try to scratch it with anything and talk to me again. I owned one, never used a cover and yet not received any scratch marks on it's body, when I ebayed it.
