Indeed the lack of full HD playback will be a concern for some, just as the apparent lack of acessible GPIO will be for others (I fully expect either group to not give a damn about the other's problem though). And while it seems to have no officially supported non-Android software, there's nothing preventing it to run Linux. On the positive side, it was apparently designed by actual engineers, who have heard of trivial stuff like MOUNTING HOLES and can keep their bloody connectors on ONE side of the board.

How is this competition to the raspberry??
Raspberry can play 1080p video
There are more developers working on the raspberry
It is smaller
it has digital I/O ports with accessories in development
It can run debian, a full blown OS
Its cheaper

Just that it won't run X86 apps, and will impossibly run Windows 8, seriously I would love it even more if it has at least 1.5Ghz single Core CPU and Mali-400 GPU, dual boot it with Ubuntu abnd that will make this the perfect energy efficient HTPC.

PS, power is supplied by a DC adaptor, no PSU here
