sure, but they did suing them in several countries.. in a way, it’s a bad publicity.. besides the fans already convinced that samsung indeed “copied” apple.. perhaps the judge just wants to put a stop in this useless patent war by ordering such a humiliating punishment..

When a company of the stature of Apple appeals in court that Samsung has copied their design.. its accepted that this information is going to be heard by the entire world even without the media. With the media, it just got there faster. Especially when there was an injunction granted in Germany I beleive to not sell Galaxy Tab, people are definitely gonna notice this case. Now that its proved, Galaxy Tab is not a copy, its also important that its made public. A damage once done cannot be corrected that easily… Which is why the judge has asked Apple to publicly say those stuff.

What they mean is that Apple never ran any ads stating that ANYONE copied their products. The MEDIA is to blame for that. Apples ads just showed their own products. Samsung has been the one blasting Apple in their ads, not the other way around. Having to post ads like this Is dumb. I hope Apple wins their appeal.

Never publicly announced u say.?? Why is there a case running in court then. Apple is one of the most profitable consumer based company and obviously the things that are taken to court will be publicized. They (ppl at Apple) know this better than anyone. Still they decided to do it so that they could get injunction which would stop sales of Galaxy Tab. This adversely affects Samsung. Public advertising means u can only praise urs and not diminish others. So, suing for patent infringement is the alternate way of diminishing others.
