Hey folks, as a programmer I can nail to the wall every point that Jobs is saying about flash. Unarmed eye may not notice, but Jobs many time contradicts himself in his “open letter”.

Does everyone else realise how stupid this sounds? He thinks developers are morons, ‘gaining a dependance on third party applications’.
The point is, all apple really have to do is allow people to use flash. I dont see it requiring a multitude of effort on their part, its an authorisation thing. By them not allowing the development of flash, they are clearly trying to block adobes cash flow.
Not that it matters much to me anyway, adobe are probably bigger sellouts then apple.

It is obvious, the iPhone’s OS is to play apps with limited access. When there is no multi-tasking, no in-built functions then automatically you can do things smooth, less or almost no bugs to deal with because there is nothing going on, you can do things fast, you can put lot of image-based look without lags. What you cannot have is a proper OS with must-have features and they didn’t even have to put too much work into it, Less work, less money investment, lot of attraction, too much playful things to cheer about and lot of profit because every little and grown up kid wants one, over it show too much graphics magic and call it magical and double or more the price.

To play Flash (and other features such as simple copy-paste) they needed to work too much, too much work means more money investment, more bugs to deal with, so on and on.

Real developers and true think-tank was behind Symbian and WinMo so they put up everything properly from the first step. And they did it good. Now as they are getting processing power to deal with graphics they will fix the UI to meet the trend and everything will good to go.

that’s because they have no other good software to use, paint.net and gimp can sometimes help me even more than photoshop.

and about flash,my old Eten windows mobile device with 400mhz CPU and very low ram can run flash games AND online videos, not just youtube , it played Google video perfectly,i tried flash games with the qwerty keyboard and its awesome with no lag. and Steve just want to dominate the internet with his HTML5 bullshit.

my 5530 plays flash through skyfire with no problems or lag whatsoever
