Wireless charging means you have to put your device on a mat. As soon as you take it – it stops charging.

On dock it starts charging once you put it in dock. As soon as you take it – it stops charging.

I fail to see the difference other than wireless gimmick and huge price of Qi chargers.

Wireless connectivity anyone? Really for the sake of not having to mess around with the USB cover I would say not having USB connectivity inthe dock is a god send. Perhaps sony could do a dock that plugs via USB to your computer, paths the USB power to the Xperia Z’s external power pickups and has an inbuilt bluetooth transmitter/reciever to feed data to your computer via the USB.

well I think it’s sold separately, but a dock coming with the phone with charging, USB OTG and loudspeakers would be super sweet

mobile phone companies make high profits, so I think bundling such a dock (which may at most cost them $5) would be great

I would prefer a Wireless charging dock…. from a 2013 device like this. That’s the single “complaint” i have. We can also get QI standard Palm Pre chargers for like 10$ on Amazon so don’t talk to me about expenisve tech or anything like that. Yes there are expensive ones like the fatboy pillow. Also > update the post: some guy filmed there are docks in white and magenta as well> which is nice :). I was just expecting Wireless charging. Nevertheless coming from an older water resistant phone i would consider this over similar spec’d phones.

They do come in three colors Black, white and Purple

That’s something japanese phones had for years, and for some S T U P I D reason, wans’t implemented on western market.

Actualy was, years ago, but then was forgotten.

Thanks Sony! That’s something every phone should have as long as they have batteries. But it should be included on the retail package in my opinion, given the flagship price.
