That’s up to other gadget bloggers to work, as if a company would be willing to do such thing. even Panasonic wouldn’t do that on their toughbooks. remember those viral videos where they put Active and Go onto extreme tortures? also the video where Acro S was used as hammer substitute?

I think the Xperia Z isn’t put to the correct shockproof and water resistant capabilities, what they should have done is, tried using the phone underwater in a pool (it states up to 1 Meter of water resistant capabilities) try taking a phone call underwater, or playing music underwater, if it fails just try using it out of the water in the pool, try taking pics while underwater, and to serve purpose of its pure ruggedness the reviewer simply shouldn’t drop his device, but dash it with force, I’m sorry Sony if it fails even one of these tests your reputation would be all gone lol.

You’re right, it’s true Gorilla Glass is tough, but that’s not just what makes Z special, basically it was designed to survive swimming for 30 minutes too, and its edges won’t dent like an iphone 5 could get when dropped, it won’t break into pieces like an Galaxy S3, and won’t drop calls when held, and from what we’ve seen on torture tests done with Acro S, and V, Z can survive what its predecessors could survive.

if Xperia Z could survive extreme tortures like what the previous videos have shown using Xperia Active and Go (though I doubt that given it’s lower IP rating) then we can safely call Z a rugged phone like Panasonic toughbooks, Casio GShocks or Olympus MJU cameras are known for

Notice how he tries to lock the phone again at 6.55 and it does nothing. Then he panics and just turns the phone away. It then stays unlocked and lit for the rest of the video.

By the way…When I saw Xperia Z specs I laso bought Sony Corp. shares at USD 10 in NYSE :).Think about: PS4, NewGen HD Tvs, Vaio hybrit ultrabboks like vaio duo 11… I think 2013 is a Sony Year…
