I’d say the new design is a few steps back. I bought my Z as a desktop replacement. Has everything in one compact, carbon fibre / aluminium body (eg, two GPUs, blu-ray), while being extremely portable at 1.5kgs AND NOT comprimising on performance (it’s still comparable to SB i5 processors today). The fact they went spliting the optics and graphics like they have is, I guess personally, out of step.

Heck, Sony even advertises this machine as having ‘regularly spaced screws’. For all I care, you know the company is in real strife if they use advert space to market something ridiculous like that…
