Well mate, the resolution isn't really a basis for a good camera. In some cases, high resolution may even result to "noisy" images. I recommend you read about Sony TX100V review to learn more about this camera.

Yeah, that’s right. It’s a 3d-like image. But I think technically, it’s still 3d because two angles are taken for each shot

I’m having a serious problem here. By definition, to capture 3D, you need two different points of view, which you can get by having two distanced lenses proper on the same camera (like your eyes are on your head), or by taking two shots in different positions with a single lens one. This seems to do neither:

“…or the new 3D Still Image mode. In this mode, the camera takes two consecutive shots in different focus positions to calculate the depths, and then it creates left-eye and right-eye images to produce a 3D effect.”

Emphasis on _different focus_, not different physical point of view (for which you’d have to slide the camera sideways for the second shot). That’s not actual 3D. It’s a “3D-ified” 2D image, a kind of glorified pseudo-3D…

The Sony DSC-HX5V camera was a very good one, check out the reviews. So, i`m guessing it`s successor will be even better. Also the Sony TX10 rugged camera , looks promising as well. Can`t wait to buy one in march .
