we have forgot the cyber shot , i think they even had xenon even at mid range devices , ans david i think a better battery like moto maxx seems impossible ? the thing is that these guys dont want to have that on their devices cuz they want to separate mobiles from cameras , exactly what happened with sony . i have a n82 and i can say its not worse then a entry level camera .

You are not the only one who wishes for a Xenon Flash comeback. hence my +1 on your rating. maybe if Apple decided to incorporate Xenon Flash on their next iphone then Samsung and the rest will finally wake up again. we used to see Xenon flash on SE, Samsung and LG but now it's extinct. it's like imaging technology is going downwards thanks to the iPhone hype :(

Given the poor battery life of smart phone these days, i think better light reception on the lens in dark environment is more important than a battery draining flash!

Even if that was true, its only because in tablets makers use older components in the back camera, as tablets are not meant to be used as cameras in that way.
But more and more people are using tablets as cameras and camcorders, so its likely that makers will start to focus on camera quality in tablets as well. (and with camera quality, we are not talking really good optics and large sensor, but latest generation of compact sensors... too bad there is only one company right nog that actually focuses on real camera quality in mobile products)

Apple or Samsung will be the first to use it before Sony could in their devices.
Sony is the android world 'Nokia' always slow to react but makes beautiful phones but hardware and software wise a generation behind.
I doubt they will release a quad-core device with jellybean this year.
