Sony has an odd-looking, dedicated selfie camera on the way

Alleged images of a dedicated selfie camera from Sony with rather odd design made the rounds online. Designed to look like a perfume bottle, the gadget looks set to be released in Asia in the near future.

Some alleged specs for the snapper leaked out alongside the images as well. It will purportedly pack a 1/2.3” Exmor RS sensor and dual-conversion Sony G lens.

Additional features include optical image stabilization, 3” display, memory card slot, as well as Wi-Fi and NFC for easy sharing of your photography masterpieces. Measures of the setup are 57.7mm x 125mm x 20.1mm, while its weight tips the scale at 136 grams with card and battery included.

All in all, it appears that Sony is about to take capturing selfies to the next level. Recently, the tech giant launched a selfie-centric smartphone as well – the Sony Xperia C3.

What do you think? Is Sony going over the top with this device, or is it clever to try a capture a market segment waiting to be taken?
