Sony Ericsson jumps the gun with the announcement of an XPERIA X2 soft update

The official Sony Ericsson blog just announced they have a small but important software update to all XPERIA X2 owners. But as it turned out, they are not quite ready in posting it over at the official Sony Ericsson update center.

Ok, we won’t hold it against them – a software update “that will add stability and improved performance throughout the device” is definitely some good news to share in the first place. Who cares you still can’t get it online.

The software update (a simple .cab file) is not quite ready to roll out of their lab (99% there). What’s more, the text refers to an embedded video that should clear things up on the installation procedure, but the video is simply not embedded yet as well. No worries, take your time guys.

Oh, and while you’re at it, fix the reference to “the upcoming MR1 update”, since that one is already out there. Instead you probably meant to refer to the update to Windows Mobile 6.5.3 that all XPERIA X2 users are anticipating in May. Oh, boy! I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one, too.
