Sony announces Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset – Elite Edition for the PS3, PSVita and mobile devices

Last year, Sony launched the Wireless Stereo Headset for the PlayStation 3, which is an amazing product for the price and something I can personally vouch for having owned it for the past several months. Now, Sony has launched the new Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset – Elite Edition, which not only works with the PS3 but also with the PSVita and other mobile devices.

The main feature of this headset is the BassImpact technology. It turns bass sounds into pulses that sync with the sound. Basically, you will feel the headset vibrating along with bass in the audio, which Sony believes creates a greater sense of immersion. The Pulse – Elite Edition also has 7.1 virtual surround sound and various preset audio modes for gaming, music and movies.

The Wireless Stereo Headset only worked with the PS3, but this one can also work with the PSVita and has a 3.5mm audio jack so you can also connect it to MP3 players and mobile phones.

Sony has also dramatically changed the design and it now looks a lot more stylish. It features hidden noise-cancelling microphones, unlike the Wireless Stereo Headset that had a single mic sticking out from the side.

The Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset – Elite Edition will be available this fall for $149.99. Additionally, Sony has also announced that it will be fixing the bugs in the current Wireless Stereo Headset regarding the Sidetone feature with a software update to the PS3.
