I think haswell will be a good indcation of how serious Intel will take things, being a 22nm chip it should offer great battery life and very low heat output, this is what I would wait for if you want a full desktop experience,

To a mainstream consumer, it is currently fail only cause of a lack of apps, you dont want to carry a tablet that need some sort of cooling, drains battery quickly, and cost as much as a ultrabook just to use some apps, go on the web and watch a few things here and there.

I would rather they release 2, 1 RT and 1 Pro to cover all the customer base.

Yup there are patents to keyboards too by the way. Many companies copy or are inspired to a certain degree by others, but still put in their own unique ingredient to differentiate. Samsung simply imitates and takes the best parts of others, without any soul.

If I were Samsung I'm not gonna waste time, effort and R&D money on anything Win 8 RT/ARM devices even if Exynos 5 are more than ready and are capable enough. I'd save that for the usual Androids of Note 10.1/5.5. I see Win 8 RT as an unnecessary redundancy unless WP8 gets killed along the run. If some of you can't understand this, here's an example; If WP8 turns out to be just as good on paper, how hard is it to scale that to tablets? That way it's an easier shortcut to port over WP8 apps just to some more inches of screens rather than this circus of a juggling act between W8 to RT even if they share the same base?

Why? Because MS has already proven that Surface Pro are doable. That's a full on Win 8 Pro x86 (hell we might even get x64 sooner or later) tablet firepower. That and I'm pretty sure Intel has some more trick up its sleeve in the pipeline to answer ARM's strong point of power efficiency. When or if that happens, I find it a very very hard proposition for people to adopt W8 RT not when they can now lug a nice tablet that truly mirror their main Win setup? Sammy already have a working Intel relationship on their standard Windows' IVB line up so what's the problem at asking for some more access to build 1 or 2 Surface Pro competing models?
