No, it’s not an “excuse” and no, the point of “phoneblet” isn’t the pen. Samsung simply wanted to make a smartphone without the limit of the screen size that people would find inconvenient. The S-Pen is there just as an additional tool to help, nothing more.

well, i won’t go as far as saying “fooling”. but my point is just the same as yours, they need to make up name for the note for an excuse to sell the big screen device. and like i said, all the phablets point was just to sell the s-pen enabled “smartphone”, to make the pen more useful they need a bigger screen, then came a long the term.

Will the battery meter behaves normally though? I mean it shows when the battery is really full & low. Because there are some posts saying that since the device does not recognize the increase in mAh, they just treat the battery as the original one & indicates low battery & such, even though its still half full. Clarify me on this cz I might be buying a high-capacity battery for my phone

It’s not about “fooling” the customers into thinking it’s something different. As I said, it’s just an imaginative name for the Note, because it seems too big to be a smartphone (but it still is) and too small to be a tablet. Samsung’s vision was to make a huge smartphone without fearing it would be too uncomfortable so they wouldn’t be limited.
