When I heard the screen was pentile, it did actually cause me to reconsider purchasing the phone. Not sure why anyone would be chomping at the bit to jump to an effective resolution of 960x540 when most phones are 800x480. Real 720p would have been another matter.

Pentile is to phones as software "boosted" megapixel count is to webcams. Disclaimer needed.

I had a Galaxy S I9000 and even though the colors were just amazing, the picture wasn't as clear as I was expecting. When I compared it to other RGB based LCD's I did notice the difference. The picture was more vibrant on my phone, but relatively fuzzier.
So I'm sorry Google, im going to have to say that was a bad choice. I know the screen resolution has gone up, but then again so has the screen size. So I plan to stay clear of this one.

Yes LuisMichel, I agree with you that the Nexus One was top of the Android range when it was launched but that was because Google had to release one to convince the other manufacturers of the potential of Android. Prior to Nexus One, HTC was almost the only player in the market and lets face it, for an early adopter, they did a horrible job with the mediocre specifications and what HTC did after the Nexus One was to emulate Google and launched a series of phones with similar specifications and the fabled; HTC Desire aka Nexus One and so did the other manufacturers because then it seemed viable. With so many handsets with different versions of Android, the Nexus line is needed to provide developers a tool to work on and manufacturers a benchmark.

Thanks to that we now have phones with build in 2GB of ROM minimum to allow you to accommodate more applications as the market expands rather than the 512MB or less ROMs and at least 512MB RAM rather than 384MB RAM that us early adopters have to put up with.

They say this in the review

Think of a word with no r, g or b in it, and you eventually arrive at "disappointed."

We continue to laugh as samsung panic releases a phone.
Buy your 70th phone this year samsung you still can't make a phone to compare
to iphone4s, and we like that.

We see other tech web sites saying nexus is very disappointing, we again say, we like that as Apple fans

Engadget is saying super amoled - minus , as it's very poor screen.

This is why we as Apple fans selected Retina screens.
We like theses instead and we like that.
