The W8 Tablets should be 400$ at most if they want to compete not only with the other tablets, but also with netbooks and other harware that can run a full fledged W8 version.

I think this is the price for the Pro version and mistakenly announced. I expect the pro version to launch at laptop prices, especially since the Surface Pro actually runs i5 and a full HD screen.
