If you plug this in a Nokia phone, for example, you will hear only one channel of sound. That’s exactly what happens when you try to use an HTC or Apple headset with a Nokia phone. So get your facts straight before arguing. The phones these headphones support all happen to be smartphones, so technically it is for smartphones. No one cares about dumbphones anyway.
