Educational sectors get 'iBooks author' access in additional to pushing access of podcasts , lecture notes , docs and also their resources are different and they also get an iPad learning lab if they wish.

For medical sector , its not the same things u use , different resources u need , for example , eRecords , Cloud type pushing of e-records and alerts being pushed to various staff , patients status , and ofc apps which help in many ways.

For enterprise , see this :

I'm sorry for bringing you further into this. But what's so specific about education sector? If you can sideload your own educational apps into it, you can also sideload medical apps. Or maybe it still has restriction somehow?

I am not confused.

Its not just about app development.

What I am saying is simple , If u are an iOS dev , you can do whatever u want to.
That's same thing followed in educational sectors which provides iPads to students , Enterprise sectors and also hospitals. (Each company can write their own apps and push them to all devices without even need for Appstore connectivity)

But if u get an iPhone as a personal device , Then no , you can't do stuff u describing about.

In Simple language :
A personal and consumer iPhone is a device different from iPhone used in other sectors.
If u want sideloading , creating ur own apps , pushing ur own data to specific devices , automation , restrict access/increase access etc. Then there is iPhone for commercial/edu/medic/enterpr. sectors.

About app development, basically it's just all the same whether it's for iOS, Android, or whatever. Even strange stuff like Adobe Air now support BB10. Certification is just part of publishing. The difference is, developing for Android is more challenging. You can also create widgets, small apps, or anything that doesn't even exist yet, with full connectivity, NFC, whatever.

What the hell, I really don't want to talk about that in comments. We actually talked about sideloading. I don't know about your warranty, but my warranty has nothing to do with it. Well, it's sideloading, maybe you forgot that no root or bootloader unlock needed. It's not to confuse it with flashing.

iOS devs also can do things like modifying , accessing resources of iOS devices if they are members in dev programme

So , what's ur problem , now ? If u are a dev , you can do all things u want with dev certification from apple to modify , test and do anything , and similarly , if u are enterprise customer , then also apple deploys you with own sets of tools to help sharing things across the members of company board/offices etc.

90%+ of fortune 500 companies are deploying iOS devices and doing whatever they want , with the help of dev tools and also seamlessly pushing data across any device they want and which ever way they want(which normal iPhones cannot do).

But if u simply want to "play" with your device , Then yes , Android does everything u want , just like a toy in hands.

If a dev wants to share an app , why can't he use playstore ? There would be number of reasons :

>He is not certified to do so

>Putting malware or secretly tracking user's critical info (which would be rejected by playstore)

>Just putting tweaks/hacks which are not allowed my OEMs/Removes warranty

>Beta app/testing stage
----------
If u compare it , An enterprise iPhone/Dev's iPhone can do lot of things what most jailbroken iPhones can do.

There is difference between dev's device , consumer device and enterprise device in iPhone.

In Android , All are same except dev's device with some more access.

You've clearly never used an iOS device and the App Store then.
And there are plenty of Androids with non removable batteries, Mass storage and SD cards are never going to beat a 128gb USB memory stick, and bluetooth file transfer is used by HOW many people these days? lol.
And I have message delivery. So you're wrong again.
