No, a waterproof smart watch (which a person was wearing in the shower, bath or swimming pool) allows a person to be alerted that they are being called, or have been sent an email or text message (which may be important) and that they need to get themselves out of the shower, bath or pool so they can answer the call or respond to the email or text message asap. Otherwise they could miss that opportunity, as it could be too late once they eventually do get out of the shower, bath or pool. You catch my drift ?.

And no, i don't want one of these personally (well not yet anyway), but i can see the usefulness and potential of something like it, and I'm pretty sure many other people do too.

If you dont remove your watch, you get a collection of moist between your watch and wrist, so you will still have to remove the watch and dry yourself and the watch.
When I take a bath, I remove my clothes, watch included.
When I wash my hands throughout the day, I dont splash nearly enough to get my watch wet. I would ask you how you manage to get your watch wet when waching your hands.

But yes, it should be water resistant or splash proof (not necessarily water prof) to deal with rain, sweat, moist, those are all general needs. Some products do, even without having any indication it will can withstand moist in any way, others get water damaged way way to easy.

Unless your phone is water resistant, you would have to dry your hair and side of your head before you answer, so you are most likely to miss answering the call anyhow.
If you phone is water resistant, you can have it with you in your bathroom, and will hear it perfectly even when the tap is running.

I get that you want a water resistant watch, if its exposed to moisture or rain.
But wanting a waterproof just to be able to take it in to the shower or bathtub not to miss a call, does not apply to the general user.

claiming that Mobile is Water proof, doesn't make it real Water proof. I used Sony (Water proof), Nokia, HTC devices. In this Nokia and HTC are not Water proof but Sony is. I didnt used that phones is water but in rain and Sony Xperia Z( Water proof) is become very disappointed like not working properly etc. and here I am using NOKIA LUMIA 610(very oldest lumia smartphone) and HTC one X (both are non Water Proof). Only branded mobiles can do that.I am not telling that sony is not branded but speciality sony is different.....
