Actually, we still don't know if the games will be cross-device.
I'm personally pretty sure that whatever you have on Google Play you'll need to re-purchase on the OUYA market or whatever, but I'd be surprised if they don't make a market app for phones and tablets...so we'll have to wait and see.

Also, paying for xBox live gold is bulls***.

I paid £300 for my Xbox, pay £30 for a game and if I want to use any additional functionality there's the £40 a year subscription. Both the 360 and PS3 launch models had HW issues and the early adopters struggled to get warranty cover. Buy a game on a new console and there's no trading, no playing it around your friends.

£80 console and 60p games which focus on playabity which are then available on all my droid products.....yeah what a really bad idea

Except that OUYA run on outdated chip which I doubt it will compatible with Tegra 4 games. Next month? You gotta be kidding me. Exynos 5, Snapdragon 600, and etc will be release to the mass market really soon. I could think of a way to mock my friends who own OUYA with my phone which has better graphics game with better fps.

When you can own Android you are welcome to talk until now enjoy your cheap laggy Nokia/WP.

Tell me why WP8 can't run on single core? Why Lumia 900 can't receive WP8?

WP8 is a battery and power hog even the battery life sucks more than alpha version of Android and the funny thing it doesn't have multitasking and lags like no tomorrow in M$ surface and Lumia so stop lying about Winlag smoothness.

Although I hate the idea of one console one disc idea, one reason why I will stay with Xbox is because of the hassle free multiplayer experience. I find the premium annual price to be worth every penny even over the PS3's free but mediocre online network. Considering this, Ouya has to do lot more than variety of games well to be really successful.

I only buy games worth buying anyway. Lol
I pirate those that have no replay value.

A part of the hiccups in Android's UI can certainly be traced to Java liledu.
And explains why WP runs smoother on "old specs" hardware.
A significant chunk of Android runs in a VM as well. Framework, activity manager, window manager, system UI, etc... all have a lot of Java code and runs in dalvik, and the native parts are called via JNI.
Java kills the CPU's caching mechanism by requiring that all objects be
referenced indirectly, risiding fragmented over the entire memory.
And while Java is a good high-level language, using it to implement low level
stuff that requires a lot of number or memory crunching is a bad idea. There are
some forced design choices that make the language unsuitable for these tasks. A re-write of the OS to exclude this isn't possible.
Leaves the only answer.
Hide the design choices of the past with more powerful CPUs & GPUs to provide enough brute force to overcome this.
That way fans can claim android never lagged

The OUYA is not competing with consoles...it's place in the market is between consoles and phones...actually, some people argue that the idea is to push Android to the next gen by adding native controller support, which would make android phones/consoles essentially a massive competition for handheld consoles like the DS and PSP.
It's kind'a early to say what's the idea, but whatever it is, more competition in the gaming industry is always welcome.
