Other than the last 4 lines, I understood nothing there, so I'll just take it as an agreement with what I said.

As for the games, seriously, have you browsed the games in google play? I don't mean the Gameloft/Glu/EA games, I mean the VAST MAJORITY of the games...they're still stuck on match-3, cow-clicking (or farmville clone), ball-throwing (or angry birds clone) or 2D-sprites...which part of that do you believe requires a GPU that can process millions of polygons per second? Actually, why do I even need to explain, you go look for yourself, just open Google Play, go in games, start scrolling down.

Of course I can do that, but what I wanted to say is that google doesnt have a standard API for controllers now, like Chris said in his reply, if google were to add in default API for controllers, that, would bring up the gaming experience

1 - Stop sounding like a fanboy, my job is to actually run tests, the performance difference is NOT THAT BIG.

2 - Those consoles were around for 8 years, what do you expect, an OUYA to last you just as long for $100? NOW who's sounding stupid? (spoiler alert: you). Not to mention, currently, 95% of the games just BARELY make any use of the GPUs at all, hell those same 95% can be run on a Adeno 205...

3 - Closing stuff on Android with task managers is a pretty bard idea for quite a few reasons, among them the following: most apps cannot be closed...they'll just re-open a few seconds later if the OS finds even the slightest amount of system resources free. That's why there one really nice feature called "dissable components" where you actually disable anything that is built-in and you never use, so it doesn't show up, open itself or take any resources whatsoever...without the need for 3rd party tools. Next you have what I said above about the apps re-opening, but here's the thing - that happens aswell during gameplay, guess what that causes? - framerate drops...usually noting notiseable on mid/high end devices, but still exists. And most importantly - this is not Android 2.2 or older, the OS knows how and does it way better than you any system resource management required...oh and constantly opening and closing apps has a really interesting side effect called "unnecessary battery drain".

Graduate IT college or whatever you call it over there, then come back and argue with me about software-hardware functionality.

P.S. probably more important than ANYTHING I said here or in previous stuff - noone cares about graphics, gameplay is all that matters.

I stopped reading when you said that Tegra 3 is pretty much on par with Mali 400MP. Are you completely retarded? Tegra 3 is pathetic and extremely laggy on high end games. Works best only on Tegra-zone ones.
Maybe GPU benchmarks suggest it's close, but real life it sucks.

Consoles DON'T show the graphics required duh, that's why everyone is desperately waiting for the next-gen.

dafuq is wrong with you dude.
>OUYA isn't running your standard phone or tablet Android, it's specifically optimized to use the full power of the hardware without any additional things slowing it down:
Well you know that's why everyone closes down all their apps before starting up a heavy game on their smartphone. Simple tasks such as navigating through the menus take up a tiny bit of insignificant CPU power. There is nothing on your Android phone or tablet that bottlenecks your gaming performance by much. Run some freaking CPU and GPU temps and meters when all apps are shut down and see it is insignificant.

I can only see the performance of Tegra 3 in Ouya be better by just a tiny bit.

I don't care what implications this device has, not my fault you failed to read my comment correctly. For the first ever Android powered mini-console this is crappy under-powered. So this sucks.

Android does NOT support controllers natively, and neither do games.
All those-emulation apps have tons of issues and are pretty unreliable by default. Android consoles having a success - Google adds native controller support - game developers add it aswell - games can actually start competing with hand-held consoles, and in the future - who knows, probably with actual consoles aswell.

Touchscreen is not a valid control method as far as I'm concerned. Get yourself an OTG cable, plugin a USB controller, get some half-a**ed touch-emulation-software and try out some of the supported games...there's no comparison at all, unless you're actually braindead or blind.
Also, feel free to take it the wrong way, but Tegra3 is on pretty much the same horse-power level as the Mali-400MP...and last I checked, the Mali-400MP card is more than capable of handling ANY game up to this day made for Android. Not to mention, the OUYA isn't running your standard phone or tablet Android, it's specifically optimized to use the full power of the hardware without any additional things slowing it down (why do you think consoles show that type of graphics when their hardware is years behind any reasonable PC?).

So I maintain my original statement, the better success the OUYA/Shield/Game Stick/whatever else there is that has an actual controller and is running Android - the better for everyone.
