NVIDIA Shield Tablet update goes live with new features in tow

NVIDIA released software upgrade version 2.2 for the Shield Tablet. The new firmware is based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

The update brings a host of features and improvements to the slate headed by new games available for streaming. They include Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7, PixelJunk Shooter and GRID 2. Nvidia will add new titles to the platform every week.

Wi-Fi standby battery life of the tablet has also been improved. Charging compatibility has also been enhanced with support for high performance adapters.

Experience and UI responsiveness enhancements, memory optimizations, and SHIELD Hub 4.1 with multi-controller support round up the highlights in the update changelog. The new firmware is available for both the Wi-Fi and the LTE version of the slate.
