Wow all these people complaining about what is essentially the touch screen equivalent of a double click (seriously, try a quick double drag on your status bar). That said, Samsung's implantation is pretty good, except for putting mobile data as the FIFTH toggle?? Yeah I seriously I need regular and quick access to power saving, GPS and screen rotation instead of mobile data BECAUSE?? But Ja maybe someone does (in which case make it customizable at least, I doubt anyone needs access to a row of 10 settings toggles, let alone a whole page of them)

Tochwiz take on it works fine, but can be improved.
Most obvious is that you dont fit all your most used toggles on one screen, you have to side-scroll. Also google likes the notification concept, and wants you to get more of it on one single screen.

If google do as I suggest, and split the bar in two drag-down sections, you would have full screen for all your notifications.
And a full screen to fit a whole lot of toggles and settings.

Apparently a lot of us commenters came up with the same Idea.

The problem with too many functions in the status bar, is that it only works on bigger screen phones.
Android comes with all kind of screen-sizes... stock android should be compatible with screens as small as 2.8" (at least, maybe even smaller, but for android running watches, we will have to accept some kind om custom skin).
On screens that small, you could at most have three thumb friendly buttons och drag-down areas, and that is if you have small fingers... and even then, the middle one at times would be hard to hit. Just two drag-down zones could be handled even if you have pretty big thumbs (there are exceptions, of course, but then it would be only a couple of percent of the worlds total population).
And on phones with really big screens, more that two zones will cause problem for one hand operation, most people could simply not reach the far left or right, depending on which hand you hold the device.

So making it just two zones, and maybe adding the possibility to custom the split point, to make sure that most people will reach even on bigger screen devices would be the most widly pratical solution.
