Microsoft did find a way. Surface Pro is a true hybrid. When you use a powerful Core i5 CPU on your device, it acts as a true PC but you can’t expect it to have a great battery life and low weight. If you want those, you create a consumer device like Surface RT.

I don’t exactly know what you expected to see. Microsoft was smart enough to combine full touch capability with tried and true Windows. Then they put the same experience on a true mobile device. That’s as creative as you can get.

And I feel as though the device (Surface RT) could’ve been a revolutionary product rather than “follow iPad’s lead” if Microsoft found a way to allow it to function as a true hybrid instead of a “desktop mode” that allows you to use MS Paint and Calculator. Had they done that then Apple would’ve taken notice and restrategize, but the way things are going there’s nothing to worry about from anything coming out of Redmond.

Surface RT and all devices with Windows RT are supposed to be in the iPad category as a content consuming device. They do exactly what iPad does.
No doubt Windows RT is better suited for tablets than Android’s half baked solution.
I personally love to see RT on sub 7″ devices, with its multitasking capabilities far superior to both Android and iOS.
What it needs is more apps. That’s all.

It doesn’t take an analyst to point out the obvious, with the impending release of the Surface Pro I don’t know where Windows RT fits, it’s too useless to be a tablet and too useless to be a laptop alternative either. I think MSFT should’ve put all its efforts and innovation on Windows 8 Pro, I feel that Surface RT is is a misstep and half-baked. Just my two cents.
