Nikons have always been the leader in high ISO, so we might see a possibility that this can outperform NEX-5N or even the NEX-7, the latter is expected to perform worse in high ISO because of the smaller photodiodes per pixel and coupled with one of the most aggressive Noise Reductions on a digital camera, just because the sensor is larger and the listed ISO is higher does not mean that B is better than A. you guys delve into details a little more.

im guessing Nikon are trying to displace the PnS category. to do that, one would need to be able to make small cameras and lenses, and to do THAT, one’ll need smaller sensors.

again. remember the huge NEX lenses?

a 2.7x crop factor sounds pretty much halfway between a standard compact and an APS-C SLR too, in terms of image quality. i say it’s logical. doesn’t mean i think these two cameras will be successful though.

Don’t be so quick to rubbish a product. This is not a DSLR, the mirrorless interchangeable lens market targets a different niche of photographer.

Lol. The sensor is smaller than a normal DSLR’s sensor and a Micro Four-Third one. I don’t expect much from this. At least the sensor’s bigger than the one in the Pentax Q.
