Netflix comes to all Android devices running Froyo or Gingerbread, aims to sweeten their service

The Netflix app for Android has been doing the rounds now, since May this year in fact, but at launch, it only yielded support for a smattering of droids, (a group of HTC’s and the Nexus S).

Compatibility has only slowly been opening up since, but has now come to support a much wider variety of handsets since launch. However, the Netflix team have just announced that their app will now be able to work with any Android device running Froyo 2.2 or Gingerbread 2.3.

Originally, those without official support could easily instil their droid’s with Netflix goodness once the .apk had been uncovered but this news means that for most, they can keep it all above board from now on and access their content on-the-go with Netflix’ blessing.

Of course this is not quite as good news for those who have been hoping for some Netflix action on their Honeycomb tabs, but all in due time, baby steps and all that.

Chances are tabs owners won’t be left out in the cold for too long, here’s hoping at least.

If you want to get straight onto downloading it from the Android Market without a moments hesitation, here’s the QR code for you to scan (or conversely here’s the web link it’s Android Market page) enjoy and let us know what you think of it, especially If it’s new to your phone’s app library.
