The phone that support this chip already out, check NTT Docomo summer collections especially Fujitsu F06B (features: 13.2 mp, Full HD video recording 1080p, water proof and finger print sensor)

So no 1080p (neither player nor recorder) phone was announced at Barcelona…
No “Motorola Shadow”…

This proves that we are still away from such devices.

My guess is that within a few months, or a year, there would be phones that could play 1080p video files (- like .mkv), and output it through HDMI, and within a year-and-a-half, or two years, there would be phones that could record 1080p videos with their camera.

I just dig out exactly the same amount of money from my pocket to buy this Omnia II that I’m using now , and let’s face it , i regret what i’ve done every second ! Some icons are as big as my toes and the stupid Cross on top right corner should be tapped by a nail or something ! Who cares about the 5 MPx camera on board or good video recording it offers when you don’t feel comfortable with the interface? I’m a developer now , using another PDA for my project , programming it with Visual C++ … for my personal phone i prefer a smooth and easy to handle phone now , not just a powerful CPU and dedicated graphic chip when you can’t reply a damn text message with ease. And for the record, I said I care about battery life , it doesn’t mean that i praised iphone for it’s battery life …. i was talking about my priorities … feel free to reply me in a non aggressive way please :-)

I don’t know about you guys , but i really think having such a powerful camcorder or camera is really not necessary. I personally prefer longer battery life , user friendliness and LCD quality when it comes to choosing a phone , don’t pick up your shotgun after hearing this from me please … I guess what iphone is offering is the ultimate phone experience , just enough of important items , with a simple camera for “In-case” situations. I’m typing this using my Omnia 2 right now LOL

theres gonna be a bunch of Flagships from all the top Manufacturers with full HD recording at MWC 2010, just wait and you’ll see.

Theres more than one way to archive full HD recording in a phone, like Ron was saying having a combination of mobile CPU and GPU with keeping the heavy graphics processing not only to the GPU but shared with a Snap Dragon 1GHz should be possible but the Full HD phones will probably be 5-8mp and the possible one out standing one with 12mp

this NEC would be a more efficient way to get Full HD with less power consumption and probably cheaper to use and a highend processor wouldn’t be required.
