thats not the fact Doug, what if Nokia had marketed much more for Meego? Now the droid as well as apple will have a much more efficient competitor than the stupid win os!!!! Moreover Nokia can stand out in the crowd!!!

My point is that those company, despite their fate, did contribute to this invention and at least deserve a honorable mention.

I can see where your argument is coming from, It’s like Edison, really. He’s a good salesman, but he did not invent the lightbulb, he just sell them better (Remind you of someone?), but no, we don’t remember those dozens of men who ‘created’ the lightbulb (Albeit not perfectly), but we remember Edison as the father of modern electricity.

And this is just a friendly discussion between two person on the internet, really no need for the peace sign :)

Well no, apart from vague, passing references here or there. Most scientific research are attributed to 18th and 19th century European scientists.

Think about it – school kids all know (or at least have heard of) Einstein, Newton and Galileo. How many know Ibn Batuta or Ibn Sina?

But I guess this discussion is getting way off topic.
The key point is this: Arabs WERE an advanced culture, and then they became losers. And the world forgot. Much like it will Palm OS, Symbian, and Maemo. The world will forget it, and that’s the way history rolls.

Isn’t history already attributes most of the inventions to Arabs, Egyptians and Mayans? They’re a very advance culture especially on their time, and the reason you acknowledge them as the inventor indicates history ddid preserve their legacy, which means nothing needs to be re-written.

Told you all the “live” tiles way of notifications are plain dumb. Android centralized notification shade is the best of all mobile out there. Why does one need to seek for tiles to see if any of them actually flipped in order to know some new events happened? Is just stupid! The phone is suppose to inform the user, not the user wasting time now and there looking at the tiles to see if something comes in. And also, why there are only 5 notification place holders on the lock screen? Such crippled implementations!
