they should use office only for windows as a strategy to get more buyers, but no… they decide to sell they products to other companies then try to play the catch up game

beleive that MS will do that, i was hearing similar rumors for when i
was working for n0k1a !!! but who cares, symbian is dead! wp7 is sh**
and yes i own lumia 800 and i cant wait to get the gs3!! IOS and android
will rule over!! there is no space for a third OS! good luck to nokia
and their crappy pureview which i just an overpriced dead platfform with

Nope, Microsoft may and can develop software to other platforms at their will. This is like a reenactment of the Xbox Live being ported to iOS, when really you can access your Xbox Live via web or console, but that was just the basics. The real con for iOS users with Xbox Live is that their games are not XBL enabled.

Microsoft Office, has been available for both Mac and PC, a few good years on the Windows Mobile ecosystem, and now on Windows Phone. On the mobile side of this software, it is free on Windows Phone, and might have a high price tag on iOS or Android.

The release of Office for Android is a trojan horse that will lead tablet users to go to Win 8 tablets eventually. Not so much for iPad in my opinion. What do you guys think?

I don’t buy this, looks like nonsensical to me that you kill one of your key distinctive advantages, on a platform that is just being brought to life. And you will sink one of your key projects for getting into a gold-mine-like industry, just for the sake of some bucks now? I doubt it. Giving one of the stellar products on WP to Android and iOS is something that MS should not (and would not) do at this point of the competition. I’d take this rumor not with a pinch, but with a ton of salt.

@xoj_21 they won’t give up on windows phone you idiot. They’re just making apps for other platforms because Microsoft itself is a software company. And also unlike Google, they give support to their phones a good 2-3 years life span by providing them at least 2 major upgrades, until the hardware can no longer keep up with software. This doesn’t happen in android where phones barely get any updates.
