I also don’t think that the Intel Core family is ready for tablets, and that’s mainly because you don’t do heavy stuff on a tablet. But the CloverTrail is something else. I’m using it and I think it’s the best SoC for tablets for now. It’s running on 32 bits and supports full Windows, which is just like the Core family does.

Then you can buy an 11″ ultrabook with touch-screen with the exact spec and it will be partable just like surface ;)

It is still not mature enough, but i will eagerly wait for the surface 2 and 3in the upcoming years…

You can try an IVB core i5 tablet like the Acer W700. It is heavy sure, but it runs cool, plus it has an 8hr battery backup. I don’t know why MS pro has such a poor battery life

If specs are to be taken into account then this Razer you’re selling is superior but it looks clunky and ugly, looks like a niche product. If the Surface Pro keeps the same build quality of the Surface RT then it would be a very nice entry by MSFT into the hardware manufacturing business. I hope they slash the price $100 less though.

and you missed my point, you said surface is a tablet with laptop capabilities, but can you game heavy on it? 3d render? or heck even do photoshop work on it? just exactly how much RAM does this have? is it upgradable? photoshop easily eats 4gb of RAM when you make posters and large banners. for gaming this will likely overheat, my laptop which has air cooling and proper heatsink still reaches 80 C when gaming. Now you say this is a tablet, but for a tablet having only 5 hours of battery life at most it is a fail. Add all that and the ridiculous price of $900, plus $100 to buy it’s keyboard which is why it is not practical at all.

If this looks promising, then perhaps the Razer Edge Pro (http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-edge-pro) will end up a better choice. It keeps Windows 8 but adds i7 and GT640M LE. Performance benchmark for this card is definitely higher than Intel 4000 HD. (Source: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-640M-LE.72199.0.html)

Throw in the Razer keyboard dock and it makes a better choice than Surface Pro.
