Judging by your nickname, you must be a kid, let’s see if you can follow some technical facts :

-Ram may be the fastest atm (note that they didn’t say frequency), it will have the highest latencies too. Firstly, is it optimized for coding? And what? It will be like 2.2ghz? I’m sorry mate, you can actually have DDR3 running @ 2133Mhz and prolly more with lower latencies in a custom good PC.

Developpers were not too happy to know they had 512Mb of ultra supa fast memory on 360/PS3 back in 2005, 512 which was common on many PC running XP in that time.

-8gb seems a lot to you? It’s total memory amount which will be shared between : OS, a few background services (not mentionning the fact games will be streamed / background downloaded), games IA / code, graphics, and probably some security service too at least. So developpers won’t even be able to use them fully and have to dynamically balance between their code and the graphics.

Perfect example : Call of Duty series, balance between good graphics (not stunning) and typical IA which is far from being smart but only like more “cheating” with difficulty.

A “simple” PC game like Civilization V makes your memory usage around 5gb ram in an advanced game and it’s not that graphical.

Current PC games were not too heavy on ram because developpers were busy with current consoles which are totally different architectures (i hope you knew it), with 512Mb ram. Now, we ll see a lot more ram demanding games on PC once ported to.

64bits programming is about producing deeper interactions, environments, routines.

-Don’t say near AMD R7870, wiki what Jaguar really is, get some knowledge about AMD past records in CPU/APU domain (like benchmarks) and learn that the mighty 8 cores of that console will only be a mobile APU. So nothing near the capacities of a full GPU only R7870.

-Cliff Blezinski, aka the popular face of Epic Studios, developping team of Gears of War and Unreal engine that you see in like 50% of games, said it 6 months ago himself : he wasn’t happy about the hardware of the next consoles. He had to reduce quality of his next Unreal Engine 4 for consoles.

I’m not against Sony or PS4, i’m just being realistic about the spanning life of these next consoles which i shall remind you, will only be released in autumn in best case. It was only an announcement to rally more developpers to their cause.
