And a trip to Mars that takes 6-7months in 2023? Thats redicules, the prototype plasma rockets we have today can get you their in less then a month.

Also the situation was totally different. There was two world powers with arsenal of nukes waiting.
Current wars will go on economic side, not about racing other countries with war arsenal and racing to the moon.

Someday i hope i happens, but it just might be China that makes the first step with Europe and USA as secondary helpers.
