Nothing can beat IMAX experience especially 3D :) , That I can say for sure.

I actually hunted one month for getting a 3D TV , First i considered a projector because there is a hall/drawing room in second floor with all necessary wiring for speakers and projector but nobody in the house is interested in climbing on 2 floors for it , so i myself got an LG TV finally in my room.

And there are 3 Sony TVs as well , out of them one is 40″ HX series 3D TV.A month back , i saw Amazing spiderman on that and couldn’t stay even 10 mins , it felt uncomfortable and i can watch it only at limited angles whereas the same movie felt pleasant on passive 3D and i watched entire movie , it was good.

My opinion is , 3D TV + 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system + Blu-ray = ultimate combo.

I am going to arrange Onkyo 7.1 system to LG TV because experience is incomplete without sound effects.In our old house , we have used that Onkyo for 3 years hooked to 52″ Bravia W series 2D TV , it was still amazing even without 3D , Now , I am going to make same setup for LG as well.

Which actually is better? (putting aside stuff like expensive Active glasses with the recharging and the strain on the eye?)

TV 3D is nowhere near the quality of actual 3D projectors in cinemas or homes if you are that rich, like I tested out both Sony and Samsung and the difference between … well normal 2D and 3D too minimal to warrant a purchase.

Is LG better in that sense? It’s another thing that Samsung has the best LED’s and LCD’s in the market ……
