It’s not about customization, Amzon Kindle Fire is a Google competitor because it’s not a “with Google” device. I mean, there’s no Google Play, Gmail, neither all the other Google services, as oposed to Samsung, HTC and other “With Google” devices. So Mountain View based company don’t get revenues from people using Kindle Fire at all…that’ why Google is not so happy of Amazon’s device success…

Because they (Amazon) put their own store instead of Google Play Store.

Samsung make chips for Apple, supply many parts to them.. Sony does too.. so everybody is competing with everybody…its nice to see they help each other out as well….(just hate when Apple sues its competition)

I still don’t understand how a heavily skinned android device (Kindle Fire) competes with Original Google Android device. It is not an Amazon OS (I think AOS sounds cool). I mean why google sees Amazon as a rival, but at the same time Samsung, HTC has their own skin!!!! I know things are different, but I don’t see how :S
